5th & 6th October 2002– Afan Argoed & Cwmcarn

A quick two and a half hours along the M4 brings us to Afan and the joys of the 9-foot trail and 'The Wall' on Saturday followed by Cwmcarn on Sunday.

Afan Argoed

The 9-foot trail is a blast. Just the right mixture of climbs and descents thrown together so that you know that just over the brow of that hill will be a great piece of hand carved terrain just waiting for you to test your singletrack skills.

Steve Who is he? Dave powers up to the corner swiftly followed by Sue
This is the stuff of legends - Genesis, Hidden Valley and Dead Sheep Gulley are all widely renowned trails and rightly so. They all pass in a blur as we rip it up along the trail sections.
Simon & Elenora Sue Andy chucks himself round a tight bend The only way is down

'The Wall' is slightly disappointing. A massive boring fireroad climb leaves us all breathless and you feel that despite some great sections, you never quite gain back all that effort you have put in.

After an interesting night in Neath we head for Cwmcarn on Sunday morning.
