Riders: Richard, Laurent & Joe
Pitch Hill
14 degrees

Laurent, Joe and I meet up at the Walking Bottom car park and have a quick spin for an hour around the top of Pitch Hill. Joe has ordered a YT Capra AL1 the same as me and I gave him the chance tyo test ride mine on the Fork Left trail. Furst up he rode it on his Cotic hardtail and then on my Capra. The difference was noticeable and he is now lookig forward to the end of the month when his arrives.

We then hook up with the Join a Ride crew for some fun and games on the various jumps and drops in the area. There was alarge group of riders but we all soon sorted ouselves out although there was some messing around when everyone seemed to take different trails and it took a while to get the group back together again.

Unfortunately I had my dodgy camera with me so only got a few blurred shots instead of the usaul crisp pics you are used to but you can see that maximum airtime was taken.

The weather was great and there were large bands of riders everywhere. We even spotted Jonesy and Wobbem out for a crafty ride.

Joe had to head off home early and I took the opportunity to duck out at the same time and left Laurent to watch the guys hit the doubles on Northern Monkey. There's plenty of footage of the riding on the Join a Ride Facebook page.

Riders: Richard
The Big 8
20 degrees

A sunny Sunday afternoon and even though I woke up late this morning an unseasonably warm day forces me into action. I've mowed the lawn in the morning so no more chores to do and I hit up some of the old local trails following the general route of the Big 8, a route that dates back to the early 2000's.

The trails are bone dry and it's great reliving memories but this time I'm on a strong, light, fast bike.

The twist to today's ride is that I'm posting regular photo updates on Facebook to allow those that may be interested to follow my adventures in real-time. I crack out a quick 40km before heading for home. I've got a big ride coming up soon, watch out for news.
